Routed networks

Define IP ranges in Settings Code lists IP Ranges.

IP ranges must be defined so that you can connect clients to routers. Retrieved routed networks are displayed in router heading (Routed networks). These networks may be defined in the system as so called IP ranges for clients, VoIP, and other HW devices.

You may display overview of assigned IP addresses in Statistics IP Ranges.

Add IP range to client

When editing/adding the Internet service, click on + Add IP range. This option is used when it is necessary to re-route public addresses to a client’s router, e.g. for web servers. You can enter routed IP ranges here. If these ranges were not listed in the Client card, the system would not shape them and the IP addresses would not be limited in any way.

IP address collisions

The system looks after address collisions. A certain IP address can only be assigned to one client. This way it is possible to easily fill in gaps in IP rage - free address blocks. If you set up automatic assignment of IP addresses the system starts from the first unused and carries on offering other unused addresses. If it detects a used one, it will skip and offer next empty one from another gap.

Certain Firewall rules are applied to a defined range. First, IP addresses which are already assigned to clients are enabled in the range, and then a DROP is applied to the rest of the range. This means that clients in the system will stay connected, the rest will be banned. This way you can eliminate connection of unauthorized clients. You can suppress this behaviour by unchecking Apply firewall rules when editing a router.

+ Add new IP range

Net / mask Enter the mask in bits with a prefix.
Default router Gateway IP address for the range which is usually IP address of the router.
Description Your description/notes for the range.
Allocate an IP address from the number IP addresses will be allocated from this address.
Dynamic range of DHCP Settings for Linux routers. Not used for MikroTik routers - DHCP server must be active directly in a MikroTik router. IP address will be assign to clients from this range regardless their MAC address. Wrong IP addresses can cause DHCP malfunction.
DHCP option Option for Linux flash routers. You can add some DCHP settings, e.g. DNS server.
Type of IP range Private or Public
IP range is for A group, for which the range is set.
Access point SSID
Dedicated IP addresses Addresses which you don´t want to use for clients, e.g. gateway, special addresses from the range.

Overview of routed networks

alert icon Information that the network is not manually defined on a router, and it could not be read, i.e. it is only written to the system.
Number of Clients Click on icon lupa to display Allocated IP ranges on a router.
icon edit Edit range
icon check ko grey Delete network from IP range for clients / devices.

Define data to be read in Settings System Settings Mikrotik, ID reading_dynamic_routes. All read networks routed on this router are listed here. This is a copy of IP/Addresses menu from a MikroTik router. The system reads them via SSH, or API. If there is an edit icon edit icon at the end of the line, you will be able to define the range as client network, or for modems/other HW.

So if you add the selected IP ranges as networks managed on a router, free IP addresses will be offered from these ranges while adding a new Internet service. If you fail to define these IP ranges, you won´t be able to add clients!

If the line with routed networks is greyed-out, you cannot work with it, since it is one of the entered IP ranges. If you need to re-allocate IP ranges among routed networks, you have to remove allocated IP ranges by pressing icon check ko grey (previously allocated IP addresses will remain untouched). Then the line will be highlighted in white, and a button for editing will be enabled icon edit.

You cannot remove routed networks since they are used for shaping.
