Info Messages

When a client is in the process of accessing the internet, the system can show them a predefined info message. When they start up a browser and connect to the internet through port 80, a given message will appear (if it is activated) along with the OK button. As soon as they click on the button (to confirm that they have read the message), they are able to start using the internet. When they next connect to the internet (for example, the next day), this message will not be displayed. This function can be used, for example, when you want to notify your clients of a planned outage.

A new message can be added by clicking on . With the help of various filters, you can set to whom a given message is supposed to be displayed. Filters on offer:

  • Router
  • Client status
  • Client group
  • Internet tariff
  • Client details
  • Router location
  • Client’s balance
  • Overdue client´s balance
  • Invoice group

In each message, you have to enter the text that will be displayed to clients. There are two fields:

  • Message for Identified client - This message will be shown to those clients that have been identified based on their IP address. You can make use of system variables (e.g. name) here. They will be replaced by data from the Client card. A list of these variables can be displayed by clicking on icon lupa disList of system variables.
  • Message for Unidentified client - This message will be shown to those clients that have not been identified based on their IP address (e.g. client behind NAT).

A new message can be saved to the system by clicking on Save.

In the overview (which provides information about names and set filters), individual info messages can be edited by clicking on icon edit and deleted by clicking on icon check ko grey.

alert icon Only one message can be active at a time. You can activate the one you want in the Active column in the overview.
