VPN Server

Settings Syst. settings VPN Server

Here you can set up a VPN server, to which you may connect remotely. In this way, you can connect a particular network to the ISPadmin system. After you have correctly set it up, access details will be created that are necessary to establish a secured VPN PPTP tunnel. You may connect to the server using a PPTP client (on a MikroTik router or on a different OS).

It is necessary to fill in the name of a given tunnel, the login name and password and the remote IP (It is set automatically, so it is usually not necessary to change it.). This IP address is assigned to the remote end of a given VPN tunnel after connection establishment. The last item you can set is Allowed IP for connection. It is the IP address from which it is possible to connect to the VPN server. Default setting: *. That means that it is possible to connect to the VPN server from all IP addresses. If a particular IP address is entered here, a VPN tunnel can be established only from this IP address.

Routed networks

After you have completed the configuration of a VPN tunnel, you can configure routed networks that are available in a given remote location. For example, if you have a remote network in which the 10.3.0.0/16 IP address range is used for routers and end devices, then add this range to the VPN tunnel in question and all traffic from ISPadmin to this IP address range will pass through the VPN tunnel. In this way, communication with, for instance, MikroTik routers in the remote network will be established.

Then you have to set up your MikroTik (or another device) as a PPTP client and enter a particular IP address, name, password and mschap v2.

Any changes in the settings will take effect within 1 minute. If you change a VPN tunnel parameter when a given tunnel is active (connection established), it is necessary to disconnect and then reconnect the tunnel.

In the overview, you can see the status of each VPN tunnel: whether it is online (connection established) or offline.

alert icon If you set up a VPN tunnel in ISPadmin, all MANUALLY set VPN tunnels (in the configuration file) will be removed!!!
