Add headend

This screen serves for adding a new headend (for connection via cable distribution) to a selected router. Headends appear in router body.

Headend name Add your own name of the device, e.g. “Cisco_Prague”.
Headend IP address IP address, through which the headend will communicate with ISPadmin server.
Headend type Select one of the headends supported by the system.
MAC headend In most cases, you don´t have to enter it. Enter it mainly for Arris 1xxx headend, which is an old device and you have to enter a MAC address for boot image from DHCP to be downloaded.
Name over WAP

Here you specify name of the headend, which will then appear on the site during the access via WAP.

This functionality must be installed. Then you enter ISPadmin address +/ wap, e.g. demo.ispadmin.eu/wap to see individual channels on your mobile via wap. This is an ideal solution for technicians. While being physically present at a headend and setting channel frequencies, they can verify the current value via wap on their mobile. The page is refreshed automatically every second.

Boot of DHCP If you check this option, router configuration will be downloaded via DHCP from ISPadmin. You have to store the configuration images on ISPadmin server. This is mainly used for Arris 1xxx headend, which hasn´t got its own booting image.
Headend is active

If the headend is active, ping is periodically sent to it and communication is ongoing.

If the headend is not active, no communication is ongoing and and the headend is in ISPadmin just for accounting purposes till it becomes active.

Username/password

Needed for login to headend. Username must be created in headend. ISPadmin will use it for connection to headend - loading/reading data and configuration.

Enable password This password is used for administrative access to the headend, to write and change the headend configuration.
Superior device (for Nagios)
Router Used for determination of logical topology for the Nagios system.
Device Used for determination of logical topology for the Nagios system. E.g. external device connected to the monitored router. You can connect a switch to such device.
Report outages for Nagios Check the box to monitor the device for Nagios outages. Also, select group to be used for outage reporting (Settings Code lists Nagios Contacts).
