Switches

On this page, you can add, edit and delete switch templates. After you have created the ones you wanted, you can make use of them when adding a new switch in Hardware Switches.

 

A new template can added to the system by clicking on . Enter the following details into the form (A graphical representation of a given switch will be displayed. Its appearance will change based on the way you set up a given switch.):

 

Title The name of a new template Most frequently, the name of a template is the same as the name of the switch for which you use it.
Number of ports The number of ports that a given switch has Minimum: 4 ports. Maximum: 48 ports.
Block size The number of ports that form a block (group) on a given switch (see the diagram of the switch in question) Minimum: 4 ports. Maximum: 26 ports.
Number of rows Ports in one row / in two rows
Port numbering types Numbering by rows / by columns
Number of the 1st port Port numbering starts with this number. In most cases, it starts with either 1 or 0.
1st port position The first port can be in the first row (up) or in the second row (down).
Position 1 Extra port 1 (It is possible to use up to 4 extra ports.) Two types of extra ports are on offer: GBIC / Gigabit.
Position 2 Extra port 2 (It is possible to use up to 4 extra ports.) Two types of extra ports are on offer: GBIC / Gigabit.
Position 3 Extra port 3 (It is possible to use up to 4 extra ports.) Two types of extra ports are on offer: GBIC / Gigabit.
Position 4 Extra port 4 (It is possible to use up to 4 extra ports.) Two types of extra ports are on offer: GBIC / Gigabit.
Number of rows Extra ports in one row / in two rows

 

You can finish the process by clicking on Create.

 

The overview provides information about the names of individual templates, the numbers of switches that use individual templates and the numbers of ports in individual templates. Templates can be icon edit edited and icon delete btsp deleted.
