Contacts

Enter Group Name, choose Notification type (E-mail, SMS, Push and Dashboard - more about notification types here.) and select Template (Settings Code lists Nagios Templates). As a next step, set the times when notifications are to be sent (by checking the relevant boxes). You can make use of the Check all/Uncheck all options.

Examples of how you can use notification groups:

  • The first group will be called Main administrators. Their task will be to maintain servers (MAIL, DNS, ISPadmin), backbone routers and VIP clients. The second group, Technicians, will then be able to maintain the rest of your routers and access points.
  • It might also be suitable to create several notification groups based on the areas covered by individual technicians. Thus, failure notifications will be sent to only those technicians that are responsible for the area in question (in this way, it is possible to keep travel time to a minimum).

If you click on a particular item in the Contacts column, a new page will appear where you can add new contacts. Complete the form. The fields in the form will differ based on the notification type you have chosen.
