Internet

Internet service means connection to the Internet via one of the following technologies: WiFi, LAN, FTTB, ADSL, FTTH
There are the following default types of Internet service in the system: CMTS, WIFI, Radius, PPPoE, L2TP
These types cannot be deleted. You can set other service types in Settings Code lists Clients Service type.

You can define Internet tariffs in Settings Tariffs Internet.

Client type

Type of client connection, e.g. WiFi 5GHz, RADIUS. Set up client type in Settings Code lists Clients Service type

Location

Define it in Settings Code lists Locations. Geographical group for routers. You can use it for cities or town districts, counties etc. It helps you with schematic displaying of routers. If you administrate more cities or villages, you can use the names of specific cities and villages. If you administrate only a few cities, you can use names of city districts. If your network is very extensive, it is more suitable to select distribution of locations into districts or regions. With this distribution you will significantly make more clear displaying of routers in individual system screens. It is also possible to filter records and client according to this division. For example: bulk email and SMS.

Connection type More about connection type settings:

Tariff description The name of a given tariff as it appears in the system
Abbreviation (written on the invoice) The name that will appear on an invoice
CMTS filename

The modem will use a specific configuration file (for example, one with VoIP support or one with a special QoS).

If this field is filled in, the system will automatically arrange (on the DHCP server) for a given configuration file to be loaded during boot. This configuration file must be created with the help of an external utility and must be uploaded to the /data/support/tftp_root/ directory on the server.
If this field is not filled in, the system will automatically create a standard configuration file.

Download/Upload Download/Upload speed in kbit/s (You can change the Download/Upload speed that appears on a contract - the Download as an extra variable for contracts field and the Upload as an extra variable for contracts field.)
Aggregation Aggregation expresses in what ratio speed is shared among clients on a single line.
Price incl. VAT Price incl. VAT per month The price excl. VAT will be automatically calculated based on the setting of the VAT rate in the dph key in Invoicing Settings General.
Accounting codes

Application of items for needs of double-entry bookkeeping. Set it up in Invoicing Settings Accounting.

Tariff type

Full duplex - download and upload at the same time

Half duplex - the set speed is divided between download and upload

Burst limit The maximum download speed in kbit/s for the duration of burst. It is suitable to set the burst limit to double the download speed of a given tariff for the effect to be visible. The set speed is assigned to a client only for a few seconds (according to the Burst time setting).
Burst threshold The limit in kbit/s at which the Burst function is activated. The value must be lower than the download speed of a given tariff. When the Burst time has elapsed, the download speed gets back to the normal tariff value. The Burst function will next be activated when the download speed drops below the set threshold.
Burst time The period for which the speed is increased - the optimum value is 10 seconds, but you can set a longer period (e.g. 20 seconds) to make the effect stronger (In reality, the change can be observed for only around 1/3 of the specified time.).
Priority Each tariff has a certain priority that is taken into account when free channels are being assigned. The lower the set value, the higher the priority. You should reserve 1 and 2 for the routers, the system and your own networks that you want to prioritize. Values from 3 to 8 should be reserved for clients. This setting works only if you use a MikroTik router.
Do not show transferred data and FUP in the Client portal. You can set whether to show this information in the Client portal.
Data limits (in GB)

You can choose from the list to which transfer direction you wish to apply FUP: DOWNLOAD, UPLOAD or both. You can set up to 4 FUP thresholds. When a client exceeds a particular threshold, they will be punished in a certain way. When they exceed another threshold, they will be punished more harshly. In this way, you can crack down on those clients whose data usage is excessive. There is a wide range of options: from Burst deactivation through speed reductions (speed can be reduced for several hours, days, weeks or months) to temporary suspension of service.

The Do not count data to FUP for period option allows you to set a time period during which usage will not be counted towards clients’ data allowances. Example: night hours. Less traffic flows through the network in this time period, so you can motivate your clients to download files then.

Excess data charge

If your clients have tariffs with a limited data allowance, you can charge them for excess data. If they exceed a given allowance (in GB per month), you can charge them for additional data (in MB). Again, it is possible to select a part of day when usage will not be counted towards clients’ data allowances.

For the excess data fee to appear on an invoice, it is necessary to activate this option and set it correctly in the fakturace_nadlimitnich_dat key in Invoicing Settings General. Generate invoices for the previous month - 0. Generate invoices for the current month - 1.

(For example, if the key is set to 1, invoices for January must be generated on 1 February at the earliest.) If you want to generate invoices for excess data, you have the following two options:

  • 0 - You are generating invoices for January in January, so you do not have information about excess data for that month, which is why the excess data fee for the previous month (if there is any) is added to a given invoice.
  • 1 - You are generating invoices for January and you want the excess data fee for January (if there is any) to be included on a given invoice. To make this possible, you have to issue the invoice in the next month (February).
Time limitations Here you can set how the speed of a client’s connection will vary based on the time of the day and on whether it is a workday or a weekend/a holiday. This setting is intended especially for tariffs for households. When people are at work, their internet connection at home is not being used, which is why you can lower its speed to be better able to cover the needs of companies. When people are at home and companies do not generate so much traffic (for example, from 5 p.m. onwards on workdays, at weekends or on holidays), the speed of internet connections in clients’ homes is increased. Holidays are defined in Settings Code lists Scheduling Holidays.
