Routers

On this page, you can back up the configurations of individual routers. Also available is a list of all these backups.

You may create backups of all routers at once by clicking on  Create backup of routers.

The overview that follows provides you with the following details for each entry:

Router ID The unique identifier of a device in the ISPadmin system
Router name The name of a particular router
Router type AirFiber
Canopy
Cambium
Deliberant
Ubiquiti Edge Router
Flash Linux router
Mikrotik
Not set
Radwin
Ubiquiti
Version Router OS version
HW model A specific router model
Date of latest backup The date when the last backup was created
IP Router IP address
Number of backups The number of textual backups of a given router You can set the number of backups to be stored in the system in the Count of system backup archives item in Settings Syst. settings Backups.
Binary backups The number of binary backups of a given router. Applicable to MikroTik routers only. You can activate this function by checking the Backup Binary Configuration of Mikrotik Routers box in Settings Syst. settings Backups.

icon info2 When you click on the name of a particular router, you will be taken to a page with details of this device.

icon info2 If the date of the last backup is marked in red, it means that the corresponding backup is older than 5 days.

You can filter the records by router type (the Router type drop-down menu) and you can perform fulltext searches on them (the Fulltext field). You can return to the default state by clicking on the Reset button.

There are two icons for each item in the overview:

  •   -  Details
  •   -  Create a backup of a given router

If you click on the icon, a table will appear with details about the backups of a given router. The table shown differs from one router type to another.

In the case of MikroTik routers, the following columns are displayed:

  • Date
  • Firewall
  • ifconfig
  • Routing
  • Export compact
  • Binary backup

icon info2 Binary backups can be created only for MikroTik routers. If there is a binary backup in the system, you can see its size and an icon indicating whether it is encrypted or unencrypted. When you click on the icon, the backup will be saved to your local disk. You can then import it into the corresponding MikroTik (if the file is encrypted, you need to use WinPostcode or WinRAR to extract content from it) - specifically, into the Files tab using Winbox. To restore the complete router configuration, select the relevant backup file in Winbox and click on the Restore button. Binary backups of Mikrotik router configurations are saved to the following directory on the server: /data/support/ispadmin/mk_backup/. They can be encrypted. You can set up backup encryption using the command-line interface - by launching the following script: /usr/local/script/ispadmin/ispadmin_backup_crypt.pl. The script will ask you to enter the password that will be used later on for backup decryption. You must not forget this password! If you do, your backups will be useless.

In the case of Ubiquiti, only the following columns are displayed:

  • Date
  • System CFG

In the case of other types of routers, these columns are shown:

  • Date
  • rc.local
  • Firewall
  • zebra.conf
  • ospfd.conf
  • ifconfig
  • Routing
  • iwconfig

Individual columns (except for the Date column) contain (or may contain) links to specific parts of backups of a given router. If you click on such a link, you will be taken to a page where you can view and/or download a given part (using the  save button). You may restore router configuration with the help of these backups. The files in question can be imported to a router via SSH or using Winbox.
